Really Pitbulls are not for everyone. This dog is actually more of a guard dog than it is a pet. As this is a very powerful dog it will require sufficient and adequate control, a lot of training and a strong experienced owner. Thus some people, such as old people or children, cannot be their owners.

A person who takes a dog for the first time should not take this breed either. Also an insecure person who wants only to acquire an aggressive dog to bolster some personal human inadequacy should never become an owner of one of these dogs. This breed in the wrong hands can become very dangerous and will be spoilt.

Human aggression, severe shyness, and instability are not traits typically found or accepted in the APBT breed. Dogs with these traits are not good representatives of the breed and should not be placed into adoptive homes. Like any other breed, Pitbulls can develop behavioral problems if mishandled, abused, poorly bred, not socialized properly, and poorly cared for could result in inappropriate aggression.
