Pitbulls make exceptional family companions. These dogs are also known as the American Pitbull Terriers.
This breed originated in Britain during the 19th century when the dog was brought to North America by British Immigrants. Originally, farmers and ranchers in the US used these dogs as protectors, as catch dogs for semi-wild cattle and hogs, as hunters for quarry, as drivers of livestock, and as cherished family companions.
This is a medium-sized, stocky dog weighing between 30 and 60 pounds. These are powerful and athletic dogs, and they are very intelligent, affectionate and eager to please their owners. The Pitbull breed is actually not for everyone since they require an experienced owner with a strong hand.
Notwithstanding the fact that these dogs were used as fighters in pits, they make wonderful family companions,
who love children. Due to their powerful physique and natural aggression towards other dogs, APBT's require early socialization and careful and consistent obedience training from an early age.
Pitbulls Breeders Pictures - Health
Pitbulls can be prone to parvovirus, so it is important that they receive all their vaccinations before coming into contact with other dogs, or going places whereby they can possibly meet other dogs. The following are diseases that the dog can suffer from: mange and heart murmurs. Breeders should be concerned with doing health testing on the sire or dam such as OFA and PENN HIP.

They are also good climbers and they must be kept in a well-fenced yard. The short, glossy coat requires minimal grooming; a good weekly brushing will do the trick. Pitbulls thrive on plenty of daily exercise and human love and attention
